Earl Brock, 90, of Crown Point, formerly of Freetown, passed away June 30, 2014.

He was born July 4, 1923 in Freetown to Fred and Aileen "Harbough" Block.
Earl was a retired school teacher. He was a 1941 graduate of Freetown High School.
He served in the 20th Air Force of the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a Combat veteran of the Central Pacific Theatre awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
He received a bachelor's degree in education from Indiana University and a master's in education from Butler University.
He taught school in Indianapolis for 37 years, teaching at Bluff Avenue School, IPA School No. 65, and Wanamaker and Acton Elementary Schools.
Earl was a member of the Brownstown/Seymour VFW. He was raised a master mason at Clearspring Lodge in Kurtz, IN and 50+ year member of Washington Lodge #13, Brownstown, IN.
He was an avid bird hunter and owned English Setters most of his life.
He was a baptized member of Freetown Christian Church and also Southport Heights Christian Church in Indianapolis.
His son, John (Karen) Brock, Crown Point, survives. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Brock Bland.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 3 at 2 p.m. at Freetown Church of Christ, 7707 State Road 135, Freetown, with the Rev. Barry Dewitt officiating.
Interment will be at Freetown Cemetery.
Friends may visit with Earl's family at the from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
