Deidra L. (Sitterding) Cockerham, 73, of Brownstown, died at 7:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at the Hoosier Christian Village, where she had been a resident for 22 years.

She attended church there as well. She had formerly been employed with Spartans in Brownstown.
Before she became ill, Dee enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching little league baseball, played softball and coached a women's softball team. She was a graduate of Vallonia High School.
She was born Nov. 13, 1940 in Jackson County to the late Wilbur and Mary Miller Sitterding.
Survivors include her four children: Jean Mifflin of Columbus, Steve (Kim) Cockerham of Brownstown, Mike Cockerham of Florida, and Dale (Missy) Cockerham of North Carolina; one sister, Carole Sitterding of Brownstown; 10 grandchildren: Kellie Cotton, Jamey Mifflin, Amanda Cockerham, Conner, Mikayla, & Cameron Cockerham, Chelsea and Jordan Cockerham, and Xavier and Landon Hatfield; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Don and Clarence Sitterding; a sister, Darrien Ison; one infant sister; and a son, Jonathon Thomas Cockerham.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at Johnson Funeral Home, with Bill McCormick officiating.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 p.m. until service time.
Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.
