Emma Jean Terkhorn, 82, Seymour, died 8:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown.

Mrs. Terkhorn was born July 7, 1931 in Decatur County, Ind. to Kenneth and Marie (Jolly) Goss. On Jan. 16, 1949, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Alvin L. Terkhorn and he survives in Seymour.
She was formerly employed at Brook's Restaurant in Brownstown and co-owned Dudleytown Country Store with her husband from 1955-1963. She was also employed by Harley Bag Co. and Cummins Engine Co., and most recently enjoyed being a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Gene) Bobb of Vallonia and Martha (Jim) Freeman of Sherwood, Ore.; three brothers: Roger Lee Goss, Florida; Ronnie (Brenda) Goss, Seymour; and Larry (Janice) Goss, Freetown; five sisters: Betty Ray, Indianapolis; Wilma Goss, Seymour; Mary Goss, Greenfield; Shirley Coogan, Mississippi; and Sharon Thickstun, Arizona; four grandchildren: Aaron Bobb (fiance Lana Tipton), Blake Bobb, Corey (Tomie) Bobb and Brett (Stephanie) Freeman; and four great grandchildren: Rachael Freeman, Garrett Freeman, Sage Key and Brinley Bobb.
She was preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Joe Goss; one sister, Wanda Barrett; and one granddaughter, Megan Freeman.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour with the Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
Friends may from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 9 a.m. until time of the service Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran School, Schneck Hospice or Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
