John M. Jennings, 64, Medora, died 3:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Our Hospice, Columbus.
Mr. Jennings was born Sept. 28, 1948 in Glasgow, Ky., the son of Rondall and Gertrude Rigsby Jennings. He married Cindy Bauer on March 1, 2004 in Indianapolis, and she survives.
He served in the U.S. Army and retired with rank of sergeant after 11 years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post 112, Brownstown, and VFW Post 1925 of Seymour.
Survivors include four sons: Scott Jennings, Johnny Hughey, Matthew Hughey and Joey Silva; daughter, Krystal Jennings; stepson, Justin Hovey; two stepdaughters, Erika Bauer and Kimberly Bauer; brother, Dennis Jennings; a sister, Melody Henson, and 14 grandchildren: Alanna Llamas, Alexi Llamas, Andrew Llamas, Aubrey Llamas, Jordan Jennings, Karen Murphy, Rylan Bauer, Scott Jennings, Jr., Matthew Hughey, Jr., Shelby Hughey, Candice Hughey, Corey Hughey, Christian Silva and Emma Silva.
Also surviving is a great-granddaughter, Madison Murphy.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 and 10 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at Hippensteel.
Memorials may be given to Our Hospice, Columbus.
Military honors will be presented at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
