Marvena Cochran Doerr, 78, of Brownstown, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014. Born Feb. 24, 1936,in Brownstown, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Josephine (Kindred) Cochran. She married Marvin Doerr on June 11, 1954.
Marvena attended Brownstown schools, and attained her practical nursing license in Augusta, Georgia, in 1971.
Marvena was a devoted wife and loving mother, and an awesome grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; children Doug (Linda) of Fort Wayne and Stephanie of Brownstown; grandchildren Bethany (Anthony) Hakel, Joshua (Melissa Barton) Doerr, Sarah (Jess) Voirol, all of Fort Wayne, and Matthew (Blair) Williams of Grovetown, Georgia; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gloria Dawn.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Brownstown Christian Church with Pastor Doug Pogue officiating. Calling prior to the service begins at 9 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Brownstown Christian Church.

Dear Bud and Family,
I am so sorry to learn of Marvena's passing. Those we hold most dear never truly leave us. They live on in the kindnesses they showed, the comfort they shared and the love they brought into our lives. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
