Mary Jane McClellan Turpin, 78, Brownstown, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

Born on Dec. 7, 1935 in Seymour, she was the daughter of John and Martha Boofer McClellan, both of whom preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Allen (Regina) Shelton, Vallonia, and Chester Shelton, Brownstown and three daughters: Norrita (Dallas) Miller, Russell Springs, Kentucky, Mara (Clarence) Spicer, Crothersville, and Allison (Gary) VonDielingen, Brownstown.
Also surviving include seven grandchildren: Michael VonDielingen, Paula Nowling, Stephanie Pollock, Jason VonDielingen, Kelly Spicer, Darrell Shelton and Jodi Shelton, and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Lane; one daughter, Phyllis Lane; and one brother, Thomas McClellan.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Bill Edwards officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
