Robert Joseph Kudner, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed from death to new life on Dec. 16, 2012.

Born December 25, 1925 in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of Frank and Jeanette Kudner.
Mr. Kudner graduated from Cathedral High School and after briefly considering the priesthood, served in the United States Navy, enlisting in 1943. After graduating from Tufts University and NYU, he married his beloved wife Chriss Sclavos, in 1953. Following a long career in direct mail advertising, Mr. Kudner retired from R.L. Polk & Company where he had served as Vice President. In retirement, he settled in Brownstown to be close to his younger daughter and family, Barbara (Mike) Tormoehlen, spending his last 20 years there.
He's also survived by daughter, Carol Anne (David) Smith, grandchildren Kristen (Terry) Johnson, David Smith, Carol Tormoehlen, and Andrew Smith, great grandchildren Jalen and Jordan Johnson, niece Kerry Behan, nephew Sean Keegan, brother-in-law, Daniel Keegan, and dear friend Charlotte Parks.
Mr. Kudner was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and sister Audrey Keegan.
He was never happier than when skiing in mountains of New England or California, or sailing and swimming in the ocean or lakes near his homes in New York and Michigan.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Hoosier Christian Village and Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church for their loving care during his final years.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church, Brownstown, Indiana, with Father Sheets officiating. A grave side ceremony will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Indiana.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour, Indiana, through Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
