CLYDE - Eleanor G. Osmon, 73, of Clyde, died at her home on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013.
Mrs. Osmon was born in York Township, Ohio, on Oct. 21, 1939. She attended York High School and had worked at Eaton Control for 25 years. Eleanor was the co-founder and owner of the Erlin Trader, in Clyde. She liked to garden and refinish wood, but her best times were spent with her family.
On June 25, 1971, she married Melvin M. Osmon. He, along with nine children, Cheri (Steve) Kennedy, Erlin, Ohio, Pam (Mark) Estep, Fremont, Dennis (Diann) Valentine, Green Springs, Valerie ( Daniel) Durbin, Fremont, Joan Overmyer, Columbus, David Valentine, Bellevue, Gail (Tony) Garza, Green Springs, Barb (Mike) Hay, Fremont, and Jeff Osmon, Clyde, survive. Seventeen grandchildren and 13 great=grandchildren, survive along with sisters, Lucy Garman, Sandusky, Lillian Yetter, Vickery, Barb Eckert, Tiffin, Virginia Stimson, Norwalk, Karen Whitlatch, Mansfield; and brothers, George Frederick, Bellevue, Robert Frederick, Norwalk, and Jim Frederick, Bellevue.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Gladys (Rife) Frederick, and her brother, Chuck Frederick, who was killed in Vietnam.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 2-6 p.m. at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.
The funeral will be on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Gowen officiating. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery, rural Clyde.
