NEW LONDON - Annette Marie Meyers, 53, of New London, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer, at her home.

She was born April 19, 1960, in Bellevue, and moved to New London in 1995. She graduated in 1978 from Bellevue High School and worked at Miller Brothers in New London as the office manager. Annette was a member of the New London Eagles, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London and spent many years as the senior class advisor for New London Schools.
Her greatest joy was that of being a mother and grandmother. Annette loved cooking, especially for her family and she always lent a helpful hand to make baked goods for class activities. Her friends held a special place in her heart and she was known for her infectious laugh to many.
She is survived by her husband of four years, Walter Johnston; children, Tom (Sarah) Fawcett, of White Plains, Maryland, Steven (Abbie) Fawcett, of New London, and Melissa Fawcett, of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Aiden, Luke and Harvey; mother, Peggy Meyers; and sisters, Linda (Jim) McCarthy, of Wadsworth, and Patricia (John) Schaffer, of Beverly Hills, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Meyers.
Annette's family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Father Doug Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery, New London.
