NORWALK - Arthur M. McCarty, age 91, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday evening, June 16, 2013, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
He was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Dellroy, Ohio, to the late Marshall and Lura McCarty, and was a graduate of Dellroy High School.
He was in agricultural sales all of his life, and retired in 2011 after 45 years of service as a sales manager at Schlessman Seed Company, Milan, Ohio. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norwalk, Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, VFW Post 2743, American Legion Post 41, Moose Lodge, Kentucky Colonels, and a Master Mason Chapter, 32 degree. He enjoyed golf, cards and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Jury) McCarty, of Norwalk; sons, Michael (Donna) McCarty, of Blufton, S.C., Patrick (Beverly) McCarty, of Lancaster, Pa., and John (Diana) McCarty, of Norwalk; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Marshall (Pat) McCarty, of Massillon, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Adaline, and brother, Raymond.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5–8 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Adrian Doll officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
