SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Jack Benton Williams, Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly, at age 66, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, while traveling in Venice, Italy with his wife, Catherine (Loudon). Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor and friend.
An avid reader, lifelong learner and consummate teacher, Jack looked at the world with curiosity and shared that wonder with others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine A., of 42 years; daughters, Heather Cates (husband David), and Erin Glancy (husband Nathan); sons Patrick (wife Lori), and Timothy (wife Maura); 13 sweet grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Schwartzengraber (husband Jim); and a large extended family.
Jack was the older of two children born to Bruce and Betty Williams and raised in Bellevue, Ohio. After serving his country with the Air Force in Southeast Asia, Jack lived in Nebraska and Michigan, before settling in Scottsdale, Ariz. in 1983. Retired from a career in Marketing and Sales with leading Electronics firms, Jack found a second career as a "helpful hardware man" at Ace Hardware.
Jack will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
A visitation and rosary are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 20, from 4-5:30 p.m. at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Scottsdale, on Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale.
