ELYRIA - Marva E. Caywood (nee Young), 77, formerly of Elyria, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, at her home in Portland, Oregon.

She was born April 29, 1936 in Grover Hill, Ohio.
Maria graduated from high school in 1954. She was a member of Absury United Methodist Church, and worked as the secretary there for many years before retiring. She was a volunteer at her church and the voting polls. She enjoyed music, PC games, and scrapbooking.
Mrs. Caywood is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Martin) McClendon; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, LeAudrey Buckner, of Seattle, Wash.; and sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Smith, of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gardner Caywood (2007); daughter, LaVonda Fluker (1999); parents Alfred (1977) and Eva Young (1986); sister, Alfrieda Sims (1978); and brothers, Auldwin Young (2004) and Jerry Young (2010).
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria, and 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1611 Middle Ave., Elyria. Funeral services at the church will begin at noon. Pastor Monique Greenfield will officiate. Interment will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
