Karlene J. McConnell, age 71, of Sandusky, and formerly of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
She was born April 10, 1942, in Bellevue, the daughter of the late Carl O. and Helen (Martin) Weber.
She was a cook at Elmpark. Karlene was a member of the Bellevue VFW Auxiliary.
Karlene was very devoted to her Catholic faith and will be remembered as a very caring person who always put others ahead of herself. She was an excellent cook/baker and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her husband Robert McConnell, whom she married March 11, 1967, in Bellevue; children, Michael (Theresa) McConnell, of Austin, Texas, Michelle McConnell, of Sandusky, Gerald (Lynn) Sams, of Bellevue, Robin (Earl) Bean, of Bellevue, Frank McConnell, of Bellevue, Boyce (Robyn) McConnell, of Fostoria, Phillip (Mary) McConnell, of Fostoria, and Robert (Chrys) McConnell Jr., of Fostoria; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Betty) Weber, of Bellevue, and Jack (Alba) Weber, of Sandusky; and a sister, JaneAnn (Brad) Brown, of Lima.
Friends will be received today (Friday, Feb. 14) from 2 – 8 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.
