ASHLAND, Ohio - Paul F. Ruhlman, 74, of Ashland, passed away Saturday evening, April 27, 2013, at Hospice of North Central Ohio, following a short illness.

He was born April 20, 1939, in Shelbyville, Ind., the son of the late William and Alma (nee Jeffries) Ruhlman. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in Shelbyville, Ind.
He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960.
He went to work for the Northern Telephone Co. as a lineman. After the company became part of the General Telephone Co., Paul was promoted to the position of supervisor. He retired as a supervisor from the Verizon Telephone Company in 1993.
Paul was a former member of the New London Rotary Club. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and cutting fire wood.
On March 20, 1975, he was married to C. Elaine Danner who survives him. He is also survived by a son, Bradley (Jill) Ruhlman of Bellevue, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kade, Cody, Trey, Lauren, Kristen and Madelyn; two sisters, Clara Price and Wilma Decker, both of Shelbyville, Ind.; and one brother, Stephen (Jackie) Ruhlman, of Camden, Tenn.; his mother-in-law, Madelyn Drake, of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Ann Bonesteel, of Ashland; and two special nephews, Stephen (Kyla) Ruhlman and Gregory Reynolds, both of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark L. Crawford; a sister, Patricia Thornburg; and a brother, Donald Ruhlman.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, 313 Center St., Ashland, with the Rev. Glenn Sprunger officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family following the memorial services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
