Jeffrey D. Phipps, 45, of Bellevue, passed away unexpectedly in a four-wheeling accident, Sunday, May 26, 2013, in Lebanon, Va.
He was born Feb. 20, 1968, in Kingsport, Tenn., the son of James Phipps and Alice (Hamm) Ealey.
Jeff was known for his big heart and love of his family. He worked in auto body repair and besides working on cars, he enjoyed taking care of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Raelene (Taulbee), whom he married April 10, 1999, in Clintwood, Va.; four sons, Shayler (Elise) Phipps, of Fremont, Caleb, Preston, and Bryson Phipps, all of Bellevue; a daughter, Kendall Phipps, of Bellevue; his father, James (Cindy) Phipps, of Fostoria; mother, Alice Ealey, of Pound, Va.; sisters, Becki (David) Wilson, of Lebanon, Va., and Jenni (Daniel) Kilgore, of Wise, Va.; a step-brother, Jack Warner, of Clyde; and was loved by his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford and Stella Phipps, and Robert and Viola Hamm; stepfather, Poncho Ealey; and father-in-law, Lowell M. Taulbee.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 1000 W. Gardner St., Bellevue. Burial will follow in Flat Rock Cemetery.
