Martingano, Joseph V.  
HAMDEN - Joseph Vincent Martingano, 89, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve R. Boubal Martingano. Joseph was born in New York City, N.Y., on March 18, 1927, son of the late Anthony and Esther Ciazza Martingano; served his country faithfully as a gunner in the U.S. Navy on the maiden voyage of the USS Midway during World War II; worked for Tomtec of Hamden for many years until his retirement and enjoyed gardening. He was the father of Lindamarie Martingano, Barbara Cohen and Joanne Mangiero; grandfather of Daniel and Laura Cohen, Evan Joseph Mangiero and Jeffrey Thomas Mangiero; brother of Elinor (Joseph) Lane and the late Antoinette and Anthony Martingano, Dolores Heidtmann; brother-in-law of Eileen Martingano. Funeral services were conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Monday, April 25. Interment with full military honors was followed in All Saints Cemetery. Masnato, Marcia (Rancourt)  
WALLINGFORD - Marcia Rancourt Masnato, 78, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Meriden to the late Gerard and Eleanor Rancourt, Marcia graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1956, and later the E.C. Goodwin Technical School in New Britain. Marcia was a resident of Wallingford for over 50 years, and was a hairdresser in the Meriden and Wallingford area. Marcia leaves her husband, John Masnato, and her three children, Patricia Masnato, of Meriden, John (Rhonda) Masnato, Jr., of North Haven, and David (Barbara) Masnato, of Wallingford. Marcia also leaves her beloved grandson, Michael Masnato; and she was "Grandma" to Nicholas, Brianna, and Nathan Irish. Marcia leaves one sister, Lois Shelton, of Georgia; and brothers, Chip Rancourt, of Arizona, and Keith Rancourt, of Meriden. She will also be leaving many cousins; nieces, and nephews. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home has been entrusted with her final arrangements. Relatives and friends can call on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home immediately following. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Marcia's family would like to thank her cousins and best friends, Karen Augur and Kim Yother, as well as the caring professionals at the Smilow Cancer Center. Myslak, Susan 'Sue'  
MYRTLE BEACH, N.C. - Susan "Sue" Myslak, 60, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., a former Newington resident, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Masonicare in Wallingford surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Irene (Sokolinski) Marino. Sue was a resident of Newington most of her life before moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C., six years ago. Before retiring, she was the co-owner with her sister of The Hair Company in Kensington. Sue will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, hiking, and her dogs. She is survived by her son, Michael Myslak, his wife, Alyssa, and their two children, Luke and Eli; her daughter, Allison Myslak; her long time companion, Richard Morganti, his son, Michael, and his daughter, Lauren Connelly and her husband, Chris, and their two children, Maxton and Bryden Connelly; she is also survived by her sister, Nancy Soares, and her companion, Michael Bragulla; her brother, Robert Marino and his wife, Katherine, and her three nieces, Krysti Lozinski, Rachel Marino, and Amanda Marino. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 noon at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Nemic, Joyce  
BRISTOL - Joyce Nemic passed peacefully at her home in Bristol on Friday, April 22, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Gloria (Yeo) Robinson. Joyce was a parishioner of Church of the Bible in Plainville, She enjoyed quilting, knitting and hugs from her grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Barry Robinson and wife, Lorraine, of Maine; two sons, Todd Nemic and wife, Kimberly, of Hebron, and Michael Nemic and wife, Beth, of South Meriden; and four grandchildren, Corynne, Brandon, Benjamin and Daniel Nemic. She is also survived by many aunts,uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Terry Robinson. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but the memories are forever in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Nolan, James M.  
MERIDEN - James M. Nolan, 77, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Midstate Medical Center. Born in Miami, Fla., on Dec. 3, 1938, he was the son of the late James F. and Leona J. (McDermott) Nolan. Mr. Nolan was employed by Jonal Labs for several years and he loved fly fishing. He is survived by his brother, Tom Nolan, of Meriden. The funeral will be held on Friday, April 29, at 10 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian burial. O'Leary, Eileen (Gibson)  
PLYMOUTH - On Tuesday morning, April 26, 2016, at The Hospital for Central Connecticut in New Britain, Eileen, at the age of 66, succumbed to her battle with Wegener's Disease. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter who always managed to put the needs of others first. Eileen is survived by her husband, William O'Leary, of Plymouth; brother, Alan Gibson, of California; and her eight children, Jennifer Linskey (Plymouth), Brian O'Leary (Plainville), Timothy O'Leary (Sarasota, Fla.), Lynn Michaud (Meriden), Lori Pandell (Bristol), William O'Leary (Bristol), Lisa Driscoll (Meriden) and Sean O'Leary (Meriden;) and 17 grandchildren. Eileen wore many hats throughout her life with her early years spent as a certified x-ray technician at Jefferson Radiology. She then went on to help run the family business at Interstate Aviation, Inc. and most importantly, raising her children, grandchildren and being the backbone of the family. She was a CCD Director and also a very active part of her grandchildren's elementary school. She had a passion for books and enjoyed her love of the outdoors while gardening. There will be no memorial or funeral services. It is our hope that each of you will lovingly remember Eileen in your own special way. Parrett, Ruth A.  
NAPLES, Fla. - Ruth Anton Parrett, 83, of Naples, Fla., previously of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Vitas Hospice in Naples, Fla. She was the beloved wife of Attorney Richard J. Parrett. She was born on Aug. 15, 1932, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Paul and Celia (Gudaitis) Anton. She was predeceased by her brothers, Dr. Michael Anton of Stratford, Paul Anton of North Haven and Anthony Anton of Hamden. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Mrs. Parrett is survived by her children, Richard J. Parrett, Jr., and his wife, Kathleen, of Guilford, Linda Parrett Langan and her husband, James, of North Haven and Catherine Parrett, of Naples, Fla. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Langan and Stephanie Langan, of North Haven, and Danielle Paradis, of Marston Mills, Mass. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1950, and from the former New Haven State Teachers College in 1954, and received her master's degree in education from the University of Connecticut in 1958. She was a retired North Haven school teacher who taught third grade for many years at the Temple Street and Green Acres Elementary Schools and she always enjoyed spending summer vacations with her family and friends at her beach house on Cape Cod. Upon retiring, she devoted many years to participating in local prayer groups and was a great inspiration to her many friends. She was deeply loved by her family from which she will be greatly missed. Family and friends were invited to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Saturday, April 23, for a Mass of Christian burial and were invited to the committal services at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Peters, David Wayne  
DURHAM - David Wayne Peters, 55, of Durham, beloved husband of Teresa (Kucmerosky) Peters, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Weymouth, Mass., son of the late Theodore Peters and Elizabeth (Driscoll) Peters, of Killingworth. He grew up in Clinton, Conn. and has lived in Durham since 1999. He also lived in Alamogordo, N.M. for four years. He was a long-time employee of Tilcon, North Branford. He was an avid hiker, kayaker, and backpacker, and enjoyed section-hiking the Appalachian Trail. He was a "Trail Angel" who built a shelter for through-hikers to use on his property, and a former Trail Manager on Mt. Higby. He was a potato chip enthusiast and had a collection of potato chip bags from all over the world lining his garage walls. He was good at fixing things and building and refinishing furniture. He always knew the right thing to say and his humor and dry wit will be sorely missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lauren, and son, Eric; and sisters, Cheryl (Jim) Cameron, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Debra Peters, of Williamsburg, N.M., Linda Barcellona, of Clearwater, Fla., and Patti Peters, of Middletown, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held. Richards Jr., Lawrence Michael  
BERLIN - Lawrence Michael Richards Jr., 82, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at home, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ellenmary (McGauley) Richards for 50 years. Born and raised in West Haven, son of the late Lawrence Michael Richards Sr. and Dorothy Richards, he was a Berlin resident since 1967 and a member of St. Paul's Church. Larry honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford for over 30 years until his retirement, which is where he met the love of his life, Ellenmary. He and he wife were formerly active members of Sacred Heart Church's Forever Young Club. He also enjoyed playing golf, painting, traveling, sailing, and vacations at the beach. Larry also loved to cook and was an avid sports fan, cheering for his sons, and later, grandson, at their games. Above all things, he loved spending time with his family. Along with his wife, a loving and devoted father and grandfather, he leaves his two sons, Jeffrey Richards and his wife, Sunny, of Kensington, and Gregory Richards and his wife, Lindsay, of South Windsor, and his two grandsons, Connor and Tyler Richards. He also leaves nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other extended family. He was predeceased by his siblings, Gloria Greco and Michael Richards. His funeral service took place on Tuesday, April 26, at 9:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church. Richards, Yvonne Marie  
MERIDEN - Yvonne Marie Richards, 73, of Meriden died Sunday, April 24, 2016. She was born in Presque Isle, Maine on July 25, 1942, daughter of the late Roland and Jean Farley Tomlinson. She retired from Walbro Automotive in 2006. She is survived by her two children, Jean Lund and her husband, James, of Meriden, Nicholas Simeone and the late Tony Simeone. Yvonne also leaves behind her sisters and brothers, Rolanda and Merritt Baw, of Wallingford, Lorlei White, of Wallingford , Wallace Tomlinson, of New York, and Philip Farley ; her aunt, Mary Koeller and her husband, Norman, of Meriden; her three grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Tracy Johnson, of Meriden. Per Yvonne's wishes there will be no calling hours. All services will be private and entrusted with All State Cremation & Funeral Care.
