WALLINGFORD - Dona P. Morse, 71, of Wallingford passed away in Clinton on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. She was the mother of Debra (Benjamin) Carvalho and Brian Matasavage. Loving grandmother of Kristen, Caitlyn and Alex. Dona also leaves behind her close friend, Edward Morse. Friends may greet the family Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of All State Cremation & Funeral Care, Hamden Memorial Funeral Home, 1300 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. A graveside service will follow at 10 a.m. in Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven.

Platt, Maureen  
SOUTHINGTON - Maureen Platt, 72, of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at home. She was the wife of the late BG Ariel Platt; daughter of the late Margaret and Forest Wetmore; and sister of the late Barbara Hamilton. She is survived by her loving and devoted sons and spouses, Forest and Caro Platt, of Elkridge, Md., Jonathan and Allison Platt, of Southington, Ethan and Jennifer Platt, of Portland; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Hannah, Noah and Sarah. She also leaves siblings, David (Lois) Wetmore, of Meriden, Kevin (Eleanor) Wetmore, of Cheshire, Elaine Ford, of Massachusetts, and Paul (Melinda) Wetmore, of California; also brothers-in-law, Robert Hamilton, of N.H., and Ted Platt of Wallingford. She is also survived by many good friends in the Mary Our Queen Knitting Ministry, Ladies Guild, Book Club, SLV social Committee, Bocci Team, Theater Group, Knitting Knuts and Wednesday night Happy Hour Friends. The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Jeremy Kortmansky of Yale Cancer Center and Dr. Gerard Fumo of MidState Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville for a Mass. Burial will be at South End Cemetery. Quimby, Howard G.  
NORTH HAVEN - Howard Griswald Quimby, 87, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at the Arden House, Hamden. He was the husband of the late Shirley Miller Quimby. Howard was born in New Haven on June 21, 1927, son of the late Chauncey and Ruth Griswald Quimby. He had worked for Bartlett Tree Service, Pratt & Whitney Fire Unit for 10 years, H.A. Leed Company of Hamden, Town of North Haven Sewer Plant for many years and later was a bus driver for the Whitney Center, Hamden. Howard was a charter member of the North Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the fire police; a member of the Adelphi Momauguin Masonic Lodge which is now the Corinthian Lodge of North Haven for over 50 years; was an avid boater and a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary for many years. He was the father of Jean E. Karacsonyi and her husband, Alexander J. Karacsonyi IV, John H. Quimby and his wife, Jocelyn S. Quimby; grandfather of of Eric J. Karacsonyi, Alexander J. Karacsonyi V and his wife, Jamie, John M. Quimby. Funeral services will be conducted in St. Andrew's Methodist Church, New Haven Friday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. (meet directly at church). Robinson, Scott P.  
SOUTHINGTON - Scott P. Robinson, 64, of Southington, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. He was the loving husband of Betsy (Singer) Robinson for 45 years. Born on Jan. 11, 1950, in Eagle Lake, Maine, to the late Worden and Rose (Bergeron) Robinson, he had been a longtime Southington resident. Scott worked as the head custodian at Strong School, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a former Lion's Club president and an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In addition to his wife, Betsy, he is survived by his daughter, Carol Pietrowicz, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Southington; and two granddaughters, Mckenzie and Aubrey. He also leaves a brother, sister, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Scott's life will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 145 Main St., Southington. Rusczek, Sr., Adwin J. "Inky"  
WALLINGFORD - Adwin J. "Inky" Rusczek Sr., 97, of Wallingford, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at MidState Medical with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Lucy Altieri Rusczek. He was born in Wallingford, March 3, 1917, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Ferri Rusczek and had been a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the 51st Signal Battalion. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church and a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. In addition to his wife Lucy, Inky is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Adwin J. "Joe" Rusczek Jr., and JoAnne Rusczek; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Atty. Robert Naccarato; his brother, Joseph Rusczek and his wife, Ann, all of Wallingford; and his four grandchildren, Brandon and Melissa Rusczek, and Bethany and Mary Naccarato. He was predeceased by his eight siblings, Albert Rusczek, Velara Kwolek, John Rusczek, Celia Gruz, Elizabbeth Rusczek, Evelyn Morris, Viola Ginalski and Ann Russell. His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Sampl, Emily Eleanor  
KENSINGTON - Emily Eleanor (Zadrowski) Sampl, 89, loving wife of Harry Frank Sampl, of Kensington, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Newington Health Care Center. Born in Southington, daughter of the late Bruno and the late Julia (Wieloz) Zadrowski, she was a member of St. Paul's Church, where she was an active member of the Ladies Guild. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Maureen Sampl, of Enfield, and Richard and Eileen Sampl, of Meriden; a sister, Bernice Perzan, of Kensington; four grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Kevin, and Rebecca; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Carson, Ethan, and Owen; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway, Kensington, with a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street. Burial followed in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.

Vecchitto, Michael  
MERIDEN - Michael S. Vecchitto, 88, died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Irene (Bukowski) Vecchitto, his loving wife of 65 years Born on Jan. 22, 1926, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Carta) Vecchitto. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Michael attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. He was especially proud of his World War 2 service in the Pacific as a member of Underwater Demolition Team 11, U.S. Navy. Mickey owned and operated Orlea, Inc. in Wallingford. He enjoyed working and playing golf. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed. Besides his wife Irene, Mickey is survived by his son, Michael J. Vecchitto and his wife, Rose, of Meriden; his daughter, Nancy Fontanella and her husband, John, of Meriden; five cherished grandchildren, Harmony Scaglione, Charity Scaglione, Nico Fontanella, Rachel Vecchitto and Daniel Vecchitto; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Salvatore, Anthony; and four sisters, Judy, Vicky, Marge and Marie. His funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 24, at 9:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, Nov. 24, from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
