MERIDEN - Emma Dolores Foster, 84, wife of the late Edward Jones and the late Donald Foster, died on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Aquada, P.R. on Sept. 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Ramon and Francisca (Ramos) Ruiz. She was a Meriden resident and was employed by International Silver, New Departure, and retired from Colt Firearms. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was also a deaconist.

She is survived by her daughter, Nidia Nieves and her significant other, William Schaffrick; two grandsons, Jaime Nieves and Erik Nieves and his wife, Lisa; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosaura McCarthy and her husband, Robert. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and by two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Canderlario Ruiz; and her sister, Celina Vasquez.
