Larry "Alex" Tanner Alexander, 75, of Brighton, died July 3, 2013, in Longmont. He was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Crooksville, Ohio, to Henry and Mary Alexander. He attended school in Cambridge, Ohio, and later married Anita Jones on Nov. 27, 1976, in Federal Heights.
Larry proudly served in the Navy from 1955 to 1958.
Larry worked ground service at United Airlines for 31 years. He owned and operated a country western dance hall, Country Land in Commerce City, for 14 years.
He loved being on the water and enjoyed boating. Larry's loves included woodworking, traveling in an RV and gambling. He also enjoyed charity work and put in many hours.
Larry is survived by his wife, Anita; stepsons, Scott (Abby) Reeves, of Brighton, and Tim (Beverly) Reeves, of Lafayette; daughters, Denise (Ed) Hatch, of Dublin, Ohio, Kelly (Jay) Anderson, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Susan Alexander, of Dublin, Ohio; son, Todd (Lora) Alexander, also of Dublin, Ohio; brother, Roland (Evelyn) Alexander, of Brook Park, Ohio; sisters, Donna Yacko, of Canton, Ohio, and Marilyne Hinson, of Cambridge, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, brother Rex and sisters Lois, Jane and RuthAnn.
Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home, Brighton. Graveside service will be at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Staging Area "C" at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
