Reverend Thomas F. Ritchey, 76, of Brighton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. He was born July 12, 1936, in Bellwood, Pa.

Rev. Ritchey was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Elizabeth Hearn Ritchey and William J. Ritchey; brothers, Lawrence I. Ritchey and William D. Ritchey.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris (Schilling) Ritchey, and their three children, Valerie (Dan) Lavely, of Vancouver, Wash.; Andrea (David) Shank, of Hersey, Mich.; and Tim (Ellen) Ritchey, of Hingham, Mass.; grandchildren, Jon Shank, Lance Cpl. Stephen Shank, Stephanie Shank, Melissa Shank, and Margaret Ritchey; brother Rev. Dennis Ritchey (Caroline) of Ord, Neb.; and sister Elizabeth (David) Hamilton, of Vancouver, Wash.
Thomas attended Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, N.Y.; served with the United States Marine Corps; and earned a degree in education from North Texas University in Denton, Texas.
Rev. Ritchey sought to bring honor to Jesus Christ and served the Lord for 35 years as Pastor of various churches in Texas and Colorado. He loved missions and went on mission trips to Africa, Mexico, Cat Island in the Bahamas, and Curacao. He had a passion for teaching and preaching the Word of God, and also served as Director of Music in many of the churches he pastored.
Rev. Ritchey served at LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas, as Director of Students and at Darren Patterson Christian Academy in Buena Vista as Headmaster. He served as Chaplain with the Adams County Sheriff's Department and was a substitute teacher in Brighton.
