Darlene Mae Rabas, 83, peacefully passed away at Gray Cara in Keenesburg Aug. 30.
Darlene was born May 8, 1934, to Christ and Mollie Schissler in Denver. Darlene married the love of her life, Don Rabas, Nov. 4, 1950, in Raton, N.M. They were married 50 years before Don passed away in 2001.
Darlene worked for the Fort Lupton Food Services for 22 years before retiring. She loved going to Black Hawk, watching the Broncos and Rockies, and, most of all, being with her family. She enjoyed all the birthday parties and holidays with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were all so special to her.
Survivors include her three daughters, Debbie (Jim) Schlidt of Evans; Donna (Alvin Jr.) Dechant of Hudson; and Darla (Gilbert) Sisneros of Henderson; nine grandchildren; Valerie Zimbelman (Jason), Scott (Dani) Dechant, Jolene (David) Dahlgren, LeAnn (Rick) Nelson, Eric Worley (JaNeese), Missy (Drew) Brewster, Danelle Sisneros, Chris (Sarah) Sisneros and Eddie (Tiffany) Sisneros; 20 great-grandchildren; Austin, Brennan and Colton Zimbelman; Maddox and Daxton Dechant, Taylor, Dillon, Ally and Jackson Dahlgren; Taea, Tanner and Taden Nelson; Michael and Eric Worley; Ryan and Nicholas Brewster; Julianne and Emma Sisneros and Morgan and Jolene Sisneros. Her husband; a daughter, Dawn; a great-granddaughter, Kylee Jo; a sister, Patty; and brother Roy, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Tabor-Rice Mortuary in Brighton, which handled the arrangements. Viewing starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 6. Burial follows at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton.
