Dorothy M. Dahlquist, 86, passed away Sept. 27 in Brighton. Dorothy was born on Aug. 16, 1932, in Proctor, Minnesota, to Senia (Johnson) and Carl A. Hokanson. Dorothy married Eugene C. Dahlquist.
Dorothy graduated from Proctor High School in 1950. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Colorado Women's College in 1978, in sociology. Dorothy was a resident of Brighton since 1964.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church and a Cub Scout den mother in Brighton.
Early on in life, Dorothy loved to read. Her dogs were a big part of her life. She enjoyed hiking and walking the foothills of Colorado. She also loved spending her summers in her cabin in Minnesota.
Survivors include her husband Eugene Dahlquist, of Brighton; her three sons Gene (Gail) Dahlquist of Lafayette; Jeff (Kristin) Dahlquist, of Castle Rock; David Dahlquist of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota; her daughter, Cherly (Tom) Harjes of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Alice (2015) and Charlotte (1978) preceded her in death.
Visitation and the funeral were Sept. 29 at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton, which handled the arrangements.
