Juana Covarrubias Sauceda, 88, of Brighton, passed away at her home May 30. Juana was born Jan. 15, 1930, in Jourdanton, Texas, to Federico Saucedo and Celestina Saucedo.
Juana married Alejandro Covarrubias De la Rosa in the mid-1940s. Her most notable traits were her enduring love and dedication to her family and friends.  She was always up to some sort of shenanigans and had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor.

Survivors include her daughter San Juanita Seley, of Brighton; a son, Jose Covarrubias of Denver; a sister, Santos Garza of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Lazaro Saucedo; more than 40 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. 
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton, which handled the arrangements. A Rosary follows at 7 p.m. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 178 S. Sixth Ave., Brighton.
