Bill Bell, of Keenesburg, passed away at his winter home in Bayview Texas, May 17. He was born to W.D. and Rubyann (Nelson) Bell Nov. 17, 1936, in Longmont. He married Carol C. Muse Feb. 7, 1956.
Bill farmed in the Longmont and Keenesburg areas until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement, he was able to continue his love of farming by restoring 27 old tractors. He served on many boards for the First Baptist Church of Fort Lupton (now Crossroads Church of Fort Lupton). He also served on boards for Prospect Valley Co-op, Roggen Elevator, Sugar Beet Growers Association and ConAgra. He loved waterskiing, motorcycling, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years; his sister, Janet (Larry) Petras; his children, Lori (Robert) Young, Greg (Wendy Fox) Bell, Carrie Mullen and Kevin (Trudy Arnold) Bell; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. His parents, a sister, Pharol Bell; his son-in-law, Ken Mullen; and his grandson, Justin Mullen, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Fort Lupton Crossroads Church, 1115 First St. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to his good friend, Lummi Kaping, to further his seminary education in care of Crossroads Church 1115 First St., Fort Lupton 80621.
