Velma Mae Mallett, 88, of Conway, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 12, 2013.
She was born on Sunday, July 20, 1924, in Enola, to the late B.P. and Myrtle Hill Beene.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Velma was a member of Robinson and Center Church of Christ. She owned and operated Mallett's Beauty Salon for over fifty years and considered her customers as lifelong friends.
Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Todd Mallett of Conway; two daughters, Melonie Bradley (Danny) of North Little Rock and Tammy Brown of Conway; six grandchildren, Brandi Taylor of North Little Rock, Zac Brown, Savanna Brown, Drew Mallett, Brayden Mallett, and Trey Mallett; great-grandson, Tristan Taylor; sister, Tressie Bailey of Springdale; and sister-in-law, Jay Beene of Enola.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband for over fifty years, D.J. Mallett; three brothers, Truman Beene (Lawsie), Thurman Beene and Lim Beene (Bonnie Jean); and mother-in-law, Ganny Polly Bird.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2013, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service.
