Wilda Burnell Manning Chissoe (Choate)(1922 - 2013)

Burnell Chissoe was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Mount Vernon, Ark. She died Feb. 4, 2013, in Conway, Ark.
She was married to William F. Chissoe, Jr., the father of her children, and J. T. Choate.
She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Ark., as Valedictorian. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark. She received her Master's degree in Education from the University of Tulsa.
She taught high school at Floyd High School, Floyd, Ark., worked at Brown-Duncan Department Store in Tulsa, Okla., and then taught at Cleveland Junior High School, Tulsa Rogers High School, McClain High School and ended her career at Bell Junior High School in Tulsa. Her major was History, Government, and Economics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Beatrice Manning; brother, Marlon Manning; and sons, Gary Bruce and Richard Charles Chissoe.
She is survived by her brother, Kimbrough Manning; son, William F. Chissoe III and wife, Madge, and son, Terry L. Chissoe and wife Mary; five grandchildren, Michele Chissoe Lott, Libby Chissoe Ramirez, William F. Chissoe IV, Richard Chissoe, Jr., and David Chissoe; and eleven great-grandchildren.
It was her wish that her body be donated to medical science.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16th, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.
