Fred Fretz, Jr., 76, of Conway, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
He was born on Monday, July 27, 1936, in Parson, Kan., to the late Fred and Gladys (Atkins) Fretz, Sr.
Mr. Fretz was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was the manager of Cook's Paint Store for many years and surrendered into the ministry in 1976 as a Southern Baptist Minister, and pastored many churches in Arkansas. Fred is a veteran of The United States Marine Corps and considered himself a proud marine. He enjoyed growing tomatoes and peppers in his back yard.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, JoAnn (Kelley) Fretz of Conway; son, Greg Fretz (Shannon) of Hot Springs; daughter, Lori Kimbell of Conway; three grandchildren, Bryn Fretz of Hot Springs, Emily Rucker (Graham) of Russellville and Kristen Kimbell of Conway; sister, Juanita Evans of Gulf Port, Miss.; nephew, Richard Evans of Gulf Port, Miss.; and numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Oak Bowery Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Oak Bowery Cemetery, with Bro. Jack Bean and Bro. Matt Corkran officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
