Glynn David Free, 71, of Conway, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012. He was born Nov. 20, 1940, in Mt. Vernon, Ark., to the late Harrel David and Emma Evelyn (Rodgers) Free. Glynn was also preceded in death by a sister, Winona Sue Adkinson. Glynn was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He was employed at Baldwin Piano for several years, before becoming a Conway Police Officer for 25 years until his retirement. Glynn spent the last three years of his police career at Conway Housing Authority, heading up project P.O.P.E., where he mentored many children, making a positive impact on their lives. Glynn always looked forward to attending family reunions. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. Glynn is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Brenda Ruple Free; children, David Free (Tammy) of Conway, Cathy Horton (Rodney) of Pea Ridge, Marsha Melia (Stephen) of Trophy Club, Texas, David Ernest Clark I (Cindy) of Kingston, Tenn., and Lori Barrett of Conway; sisters, Betty Webb (Ralph) of Springhill, Mary Hall (Richard), Margaret Nail (Jim), and Louise McCullum (Joe), all of Conway; grandchildren, Corey, Caleb, and Carter Free, Austin and Jake Horton, Tia Bradford, Anthony, Jonathan, and Matthew Melia, David Ernest Clark II and Jessica Jewell Clark, Blake Alysa Barrett; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Harlan Park Baptist Church, with Bro. Gary Mitchell officiating. Entombment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Free, Caleb Free, Carter Free, Austin Horton, Ralph Webb and Danny Casteel. Honorary pallbearers are David Ernest Clark II, Jake Horton, Anthony Melia, Jonathan Melia and Matthew Melia.
