Richard L. Goff (1943 - 2013)

Richard L. Goff, 70, passed away at his home on Nov. 1, 2013, in Vilonia.
He was born in Vilonia on Sept. 21, 1943.
As a teenager, he worked as a concrete finisher and later had his own concrete finishing business. He became a sheet metal mechanic and certified welder in the sheet metal union for more than 25 years. He was known as a craftsman who took pride in his work and insisted on "doing it right." He served with the Army 806th Engr. Co from 1964-1970.
Richard was a loving father and grandfather. He loved sports and his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren play. He was known as "Pa" to his grandchildren as well as the members of the athletic teams his grandchildren were a part of. He spent countless hours at different athletic events supporting his grandchildren and the Vilonia Eagles. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vilonia and a member of the NRA and Tea Party.
He is survived by his son, Robert Goff and his wife Sally; daughter, Lisa Weaver; grandchildren, Mattison Weaver, Hayden Weaver, McKenzie Weaver, Kaitlyn Weaver, Ethan Goff and Casey Mae Goff, all of Vilonia. His life was also shared with companion, Beverly Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey and Mae Johnson Goff; and brothers, Bill and Milton Goff.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Vilonia.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Vilonia.
Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nicholson, Lucas Nicholson, Scott Weaver, Nathan Taylor, AJ Crook, Jake Ayers, Jake Goodson, Cameron Wilkins and Landon Castle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bentley Robertson, Jimmy "Zeke" Derrick, Johnny Brady and Wendell Gibbs.
