Bill Vickrey, 58, of Conway, peacefully left with the angels for the Kingdom of God in the presence of loved ones on Wednesday, Feb. 6th, 2013.
He was born Feb. 7th, 1954, in Sedalia, Mo., and the eldest son of Carl Keven Vickrey and Wilma Jean (Charles) McFail.
Bill grew up Houstonia, Mo., and was a graduate of Northwest High School in Hughesville, Mo. In 1973, he married Marsha Jean Cole who preceded him in death in 2011. Bill began a career with Union Pacific Railroad 35 years ago and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, local number 78. This career took him to several states but he settled in Conway, Ark.
In 2012, Bill and Janiece (Reid) met and were brought together in marriage with God's special guidance in Conway.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William "Russ" Vickrey (Jennifer) of Conway; a daughter, Rachel Rayburn (Matt) of Mayflower; a step-son, Danny Reid (Summer) of Orange, Calif. Bill was blessed to have both a grandson, Trevor Rayburn of Mayflower; and granddaughter, Danica Reid of Orange, Calif. Also surviving is his mother, Wilma McFail (John) of Houstonia, Mo.; and siblings, Connie Kleinschmidt (Richard) of La Monte, Mo., Kenneth Vickrey (Roberta) of Knob Noster, Mo., Carla Bell (Randy) of Sweet Springs, Mo.; Godson, Nick Gibson of Conway; a niece; several nephews; numerous aunts and uncles and in-laws.
Bill loved all his family and felt happiest with them. The loss of this wonderful man is beyond measure to all of us.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Marsha J. Vickrey; his father, Carl Keven Vickrey; and his grandparents, Parker and Mary Charles and Kenneth and Hazel Vickrey.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Feb. 16th, at Houstonia Methodist Church, with Pastor Glenda Dethloff officiating.
Burial will be at Houstonia Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are the people in Bill's life that he has touched.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Feb. 15th, at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Eldorado UMC.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Vickrey family.
