Charles Arthur Snyder, Jr. passed away on April 22, 2013.
He was born in Connequennessing in Butler County, Pa., on July 27, 1931.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 62 years, Jacqueline Ann Snyder; his brother, Ken Snyder; and his parents, Charles A. Snyder and Edna King.
He is survived by sisters, Charlotte Allen, Doris Rose, and Tish Brush; and brothers, George Snyder, Bill Snyder, and Ronnie Snyder of Pennsylvania; sons, Terry Snyder (Dottie) of Greenbrier, Cliff Snyder (Alix) of Conway, Luke Snyder (Gayle) of Carrollton, Texas; and daughter Nancy Gilliom (Rob) of Wooster; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Since 1962, he was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier, a deacon, and senior adult Sunday School teacher. He worked for many years as an administrator of construction management before retiring in 1994, was a Master Electrician who voluntarily provided help to many in the community, and actively pursued his passion as a single-engine airplane pilot. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a former captain of the Arkansas Civil Air Patrol.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, and the funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Friday, April 26, both at Immanuel Baptist Church at 61 Green Valley Drive in Greenbrier.
Private inurnment will take place at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier at a later date.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 221, Greenbrier, AR 72058.
Brother Anthony Crocker, Pastor, and Brother Jurl Mitchell of Immanuel Baptist Church will be officiating; Honorary Pallbearers are the Pioneer Sunday School Class, Deacons, and Deacons-Elect of Immanuel Baptist Church. Pallbearers are: Doug Snyder, Andrew Snyder, Austin Gilliom, Tyler Gilliom, Robbie Farris, and A.J. Wright.
