Cleo Harris, 90, of Conway, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012. He was born October 12, 1921, in Perry County, to the late Wilburn and Lula (Haggard) Harris.
He was a retired roofer and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Willie Freet Harris. They were the parents of two sons who survive, Jerry Harris of Sherwood and Danny Harris of Cheyenne, Wyoming; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Ralph, Lester and Junior Harris; two sisters, Fayrene Harris and Auda Martindale.
Other survivors are his wife, Irma (Bush) Harris; two brothers, Leo and Edward Harris both of the Little Rock area; and one sister, Gaynell Gray of Frederick, Oklahoma.
Funeral for Cleo will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Friendship Baptist Church, with Bro. Ken Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Conway, 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway. 501-327-5000.
Mr. Harris will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., on Tuesday for those who would like to pay their respects.
The family requests memorials are made to the Building Fund of Friendship Baptist Church, 767 Rocky Point Road, Conway, Arkansas 72032.
