Emily Hoover Browning, age 88, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Conway Regional Medical Center of Respiratory Failure.

She was born Jan. 19, 1924, in Monticello, Ark., to Wilford Willoughby Hoover and Vera Matthews Hoover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Blake Thomas Browning; Sister, Betty Jane Hoover Young; and a brother, Samuel Hoover.
Emily was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) with a bachelor's and master's degrees. She worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines for two years. Emily taught at Greenbrier and Conway Public schools for 29 years where she made many longtime friends.
She is survived by her son, Blake T. Browning Jr. (Vicky); daughter, Melissa Browning, both of Conway; a brother, Dr. George M. Hoover of Clifton, Texas; a grandson, Brooks P. Browning (Elizabeth) of Little Rock; a grand-daughter, Amy K. Browning (fiancé Phillip Scholtes) of Chicago; and a great-grandson, Miles L. Browning of Little Rock. She also leaves behind loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Drew Travis officiating.
A reception will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to a Charity of ones choice.
Cremation services are entrusted to Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
