Mr. Floyd R. Holloway, 84, of Guy, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013.

He was born in Sunflower, Miss., on April 14, 1929, to the late Robert F. and Blanche (Love) Holloway.
He joined the United States Navy when he was 17 years old and spent 23 years serving his country. He was a Commissioned Warrant Officer and served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He retired and moved to Quitman in 1969, he owned and operated the Texaco Station and had a small appliance repair shop in Guy. Mr. Holloway was a member of the Guy-Perkins School District for 10 years and was an honorary member of the Guy-Perkins FFA.
During his Navy career he received The Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He also attended the Navy Petroleum School and Air Conditioner and Refrigerator Engineerman School. In his civilian life he attended Petit Jean College of Air Condition and Refrigeration and UCA Real Estate School.
Mr. Holloway is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Liz Holloway of Guy; daughters, Susan Sims of Magnolia, Texas, Shelly Holloway of Montgomery, Texas and Sheri Ivy of Little Rock, Ark.; granddaughter, Carrie Sims of Magnolia, Texas; grandsons, John Sims of Texas; Russell Rowlett of Hot Springs, Arkansas; three great-grandsons, Owen Sims, Ivan and Drake Rowlett of Fort Smith, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his son, Floyd Russell Holloway II: he was the youngest of four sisters and four brothers.
He was baptized in Christ, loved his wife and family and he will be dearly missed by all who ever knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy, burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, with Bro. Gary Burdin and Fish Robinson officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
