Gayle Elder, 75, of Mayflower, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
She was born on Aug. 1, 1938, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Otto Louis and Julia Marie (Gossett) Miller.
She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and a current member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Conway. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gayle had a bachelor's degree from the Memphis State University. She was a Master Gardener and a Cub Scout leader.
Gayle is survived by her husband, C.W. Elder Jr. of Mayflower; son, C.W. Elder III of Golden, Colo.; daughter, Julia Lee Jackson Elder Howard and husband Kyle of Maumelle, Ark.; two grandchildren, Sierra Nicole and Savanna Lee Woodham; and a sister, Shirley Williams of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Lee Herbert; and brothers, Owen and Paul Miller.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 3 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Conway.
