James G. "Jim" Nabors, 83, of Rabbit Ridge, Ark., passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012.

He was born June 28, 1928, in Woolly Hollow, Ark., to the late Dewey Nabors and Frances Henderson Nabors.
He was a retired farmer and rancher, an Army Veteran of World War II, a member of the Conway Noon Rotary Club and a member of the Rabbit Ridge Church of Christ, where he served as an Elder from 1999 to 2009. He was a former member of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol.
He was proud for people to know he was from Rabbit Ridge and was responsible for getting the community of Rabbit Ridge on the official state of Arkansas map.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sue Mahan Nabors; one daughter, Linda Nabors of Conway; son, Jim Nabors and wife Sarita of Fayetteville; sister, Pam Eustis of Cabot; five grandchildren, Grant Nabors, Sam Tyler III, Niki Peters (James), Jake (Julia) and John Nabors; and one great-grandson, Clayton Peters.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the Rabbit Ridge Church of Christ, with burial in Old Whipple Cemetery, with Randy Frazier and Dr. Paul Porter officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
Pallbearers are Sam Tyler III, Jake Nabors and John Nabors, James Peters, Burle Fortenberry and Waco Sutterfield.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Conway Noon Rotary Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Old Whipple Cemetery c/o Treca Hutson, 467 Rabbit Ridge Road, Bee Branch 72013 or Arkansas Hospice Conway, AR.
