James Nahlen Obituary
He was born July 19, 1938, in Conway.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Master Electrician for IBEW, Local 295. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed traveling during his retirement and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jim was a loving husband, father, Opa, and Great Opa, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Renate E. (Weiss) Nahlen; two sons, Thomas Nahlen (DeeDee) of Franklin, N.C., and Paul Nahlen (Rachel); two daughters, Brenda Burgess and Rosie Hayes; sister, Elsie Kordsmeier; brother, Herbert Nahlen (Thersea), all of Conway; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, 501-327-7727, with Father Warren Harvey serving as Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Nahlen's mother, Olga Herbert Nahlen, to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org; 10411 W. Markham St., Suite 130, Little Rock, AR 72205.
