August (Gus) Bisceglia August 30,1932 - June 9, 2015 Stockton August (Gus) Bisceglia, 82, died June 9, 2015. He was born Aug. 30, 1932, in Hollister. Gus was a decorated member of the US Army for 26 years. Mass will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Sacred Heart Church, 680 College St., Hollister. After Mass, friends and family are invited to the church hall for an informal celebration of Gus' life and times.

Bisceglia, Gus  
Gus Bisceglia Aug. 30, 1932 - June 9, 2015 Stockton Gus Bisceglia, pasted on June 9, 2015 in Stockton. He was born Aug. 30, 1932 in Hollister. He served in the Army and fought and was injured in Korea and retired from the service at Fort Ord as a Sargent. Gus for over 30 years, was a lay Catholic minister serving the poor and needy of Monterey County in numerous capacities with dozens of organizations. He was an Acolyte and Knight of Columbus at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, Castroville. He founded Mid-Bay Emergency+Referral Center in Castroville serving those in need of food, shelter and assistance. He interfaced with numerous other charities and non-profits (e.g. Salvation Army) both administratively and as 'the hands' who literally got things done. He was an extraordinary carpenter and built ramps for the handicapped, often using his own money for materials. He lived a life of giving to those in need. His beloved wife, Trauti, died in 1994 and he is survived by his children Bridgette and Michael, and several sisters in Hollister.
