Albert Elwood Barbettini
Albert Elwood Barbettini, 81, of Salinas, passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born February 5, 1932, in Salinas.
Albert was a member of Swiss Rifle Club, Native Sons of Castroville, Teamsters Local 890 and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He worked in the Trucking Industries for Fat City, PMT, Shamrock Trucking, 7-Up Bottling, Gnesa Construction and Keith Day Trucking. He retired in his mid 70's.
Albert graduated from Salinas High School in 1949. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, hunting, fishing, trips to Chukchansi and working hard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carlee Barbettini, who passed away in 2011.
Albert is survived by his daughters, Rozane (Frank) Vargas of Salinas, Stephanie (John) Leggett of Seaside; son, Steve (Glenda) Barbettini of Port Hadlock, WA.; sisters, Dolores Lee of Salinas, Eleanor Powers of Redding; brother, Dean Barbettini of Fresno; grandchildren, Ryan Vargas of Salinas, John Leggett, Jr. of Monterey, Nicholas Leggett of Seaside; great-grandchildren, John Andrew and Julissa Leggett; cousin, Marilyn Arcotti-Shostak and many dear cousins in Idaho.
The family would like to thank Dr. Petrini, Dom and Rodriga Fontejon and the staff at Mary Lord Residential Care for their loving support and care while Albert resided at their facility.
Visitation will be held Monday August 5, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 1 Railroad Ave., Spreckels, CA 93962.
Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
