Alice Marie Cooper
Alice Marie Cooper, 83 of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Salinas. She was born May 25, 1929 in King City, CA. and graduated from King City High School.
Alice often shared stories about growing up on the farm and watching travelers pass through her parents "Sweetwater" gas station south of King City. It was there that she developed her love for animals, and she was never without an animal companion. Alice worked in the Brothers' Residence at Palma High School (Salinas) and was a volunteer for Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. She also worked for several years at the former Ford's Department Store and Decoratique in Salinas. She later turned to her focus to her greatest passion, children. She devoted herself as a nanny to a select few families and treasured her relationships with them. Above all, Alice loved her role as a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed surrounding herself with friends and family and welcomed any opportunity to spend time with them.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents Angelo & Lillian Castelli.
Alice is survived by Stan Cooper(Vicki) of Salinas, CA., Mike Cooper of Cottonwood, CA., Jonna Mick of Salinas, CA., and granddaughters, Audra Cooper of Rohnert Park, CA, and Hana Cooper of Salinas, CA.
No formal services are scheduled, however, friends are invited to her home on Monday, November 19th, between 11:00 and 2:00 for a reception in her honor.
