Connie Vincenz, of Salinas, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born in Piedmont, California. She was the daughter of playwright and author, Gerald Beaumont and his wife, May.
In her young adult years, Connie was a model for I. Magnin's and Bergdorf Goodman's in San Francisco and New York. While modeling she met and later married Phil G. Vincenz, who preceded her in death. Connie and Phil were residents of Monterey County for more than 60 years. Connie was a talented interior designer. Her customers included many local produce companies as well as residential clients. She was loved and admired by family and friends throughout Monterey County, as well as dear friends from her travels abroad. Connie was known for her exquisite style, hospitality and kindness toward all.
Connie is survived by her son, Gary Vincenz and his wife, Joan. Connie also is survived by her granddaughters, Christina Vincenz and Jennifer Bell, her husband, Jim and their two daughters, Cathryn and Cristyn. Her family also included Mary Vincenz, the mother of Jennifer and Christina. We would be remiss if we didn't mention Connie's other son, Basset hound, Professor Henry Higgins. Henry was the latest in a long line of beloved and spoiled pets.
The family of Connie is forever indebted to the excellent nurses and doctors who cared for her at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of Connie's life will take place Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Corral de Tierra Country Club, 81 Corral de Tierra Road, Corral de Tierra, CA 93908.
In lieu of flowers, any remembrances should be directed to the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation, Palliative Medicine Services.
