Gerald (Jerry) Bowlin
Gerald (Jerry) Bowlin, 56, of Cibolo, TX and his wife of 16 years, Stacey Bowlin, 54, were killed on Saturday, September 22, 2012, in a tragic motorcycle accident in San Antonio, TX.
Born July 3, 1956, Jerry resided in Salinas until he joined the Navy in his 20's. After the Navy, he moved to San Antonio where he met and married his wife. Jerry and Stacey moved to Germany for several years working for the U.S. Government and eventually returned back to the San Antonio area settling in the suburb of Cibolo.
Jerry was an avid motorcyclist and had been riding since his teenage years. He participated in motorcycle racing at the Monterey Short Track in the '70's and won several events. Jerry was an excellent mechanic and handyman and could build or rebuild just about anything.
Jerry was a devoted father to his son, Luke, age 22, and his daughter, Sarah, age 14. He loved them both dearly and was involved in all of their activities. He also deeply loved his wife, and they enjoyed frequent rides out to the country on their motorcycle.
Jerry and Stacey were Christians and were active in the Community Bible Church in San Antonio. Although we are grieving now, and miss them dearly, we know that they are with Jesus forever in Heaven.
Jerry is survived by his son, Luke Kjellesvik and daughter, Sarah Bowlin of Cibolo, TX; brothers, Larry Bowlin of Huntsville, AL, and Ron Bowlin of Rocklin; sister, Georgianna Bowlin of Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Huong Bowlin of Huntsville, AL, and Eva Bowlin of Rocklin; nephews, Chad Bowlin of New York, NY, Michael Marquez of Rocklin, and Kyle Bowlin of Rocklin; and niece, Erika Tucci of Napa.
Jerry and Stacey were laid to rest with Military Honors on Friday, September 28, 2012, in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Bowlin in 1987; his mother, Janie Bowlin in 2011; and his brother, Jim Bowlin in 1967.
