(Brigitte) Gigi Finkelstein
Our beloved (Brigitte) Gigi Finkelstein, 49, was called home to God early Saturday, January 12, 2013, in the still of the early morning. She went peacefully in her sleep; her family, which she loved and cherished, was with her. She was born November 22, 1963, in Laguna Beach.
All who met Gigi were touched by her strength, her love, and her humor.
She loved a good story and had an infectious laugh. Gigi was an accomplished flutist and a great baker. She lived a good life before cancer took her way too early. Teaching was her passion and many a student and fellow teacher were influenced by her.
She's now without pain and in that sacred place. Rest well Gigi. The world is better off for having you in it.
We will love you forever.
Gigi leaves behind her devoted husband, David and their beautiful children, Arie, Rachel, and Nathan; parents, Hubert and Rosa Roete; sisters, Anne Hornsby, Doris Echeveria, and Christine Jacobs; brother, Mark Roete; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, aunts, and more, all of whom loved and cherished her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 4:00 p.m., at Temple Beth El, Salinas and Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of the Asscention in Ferndale.
Internment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ferndale will follow services on Friday.
