James Daniel "Dan" Charlesworth(1941 - 2013)


James "Dan" Charlesworth

James Daniel "Dan" Charlesworth was born December 15, 1941, at Angwin Hospital in St. Helena. He was raised in Napa.

Dan was a gifted athlete and had a baseball scholarship to UC Berkeley. He spent two years with the Peace Corps in Thailand, and graduated from Sonoma State College.

For the past 20 years he lived in a small artist's colony in Todos Santos, Mexico where he painted.

After unsuccessful cancer surgery in January, he moved to his brother's resident in Salinas for additional treatment by Dr. Geetha Varma and a second surgery by Dr. Neil Rudo. He died with his brother's family at his side on Friday, September 27, 2013.

Dan is survived by his brother, Donald (Adele) Charlesworth; nephew, Sean Charlesworth; niece, Erin Charlesworth; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
