Kathryn "Katy"

Hubbard-Haines

Kathryn "Katy" Lee Hubbard-Haines died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 11, 2012. She was born January 15, 1964 in Salinas and lived in Monterey County for most of her life.

She also lived in Texas for several years training horses, her passion. Katy was a voracious reader, and acquired numerous certificates in Bible studies. Katy would always bring her mother whimsical garden items.

The most important aspect of her life was her two boys, Michael James Peifer and Cody Robert Hubbard. She loved to write poetry, ride horses and was deeply religious. She was writing a religious bedtime story for her first grandson, Hudson James Peifer, at the time of her death. She had planned to continue writing children's stories. She was a natural car mechanic and worked on the family vehicles frequently.

Katy was a beautiful person and had great love of all animals. She had many friends from all walks of life, was deeply concerned for others and had a wonderful sense of humor. We miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Robert Peifer and her grandfather, John (Papa) Andersen.

She is survived by her parents, Kristi and Frank Lucio; her sons, James Peifer and Cody Hubbard; her grandmother, Florence Andersen; her grandson, Hudson Peifer; her uncle, Terry Andersen and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial service to honor her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church located at 830 Padre Drive in Salinas.

In lieu of flowers, send donations to First Presbyterian Church General Fund.
