Laverne Lincoln Haddan Jr. ("Corky")

Laverne Lincoln Haddan Jr. ("Corky") of Casa Grande, AZ and formerly of Salinas passed away July 8, 2014 from complications of Lou Gehrig's Disease.

He was a loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Grandpa whose pride and joy was his 2 grandsons.

Corky was born in Nebraska on January 4, 1948 and remained true to his Nebraskan roots his entire life. He and his family moved to California while in high school, and he was a proud member of the class of 1966 North Salinas High School Vikings, excelling in both basketball and football.

In 1969 he married his High School sweetheart Susan and had one daughter, Laura.

Corky served proudly with the National Guard and loved protecting and serving his country.

Corky was a hard worker and dedicated employee that spent 30 years with Dick Bruhn Inc., in Salinas California, and the last 16 years with National Vitamin Company, in Casa Grande Arizona.

Corky is once again reunited with his wife, and is survived by his father, 5 siblings, daughter and son-in-law, and 2 grandsons.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at the Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA 93901.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday July 17, 2014 at 11:30am at the Struve and Laporte Chapel.

Burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Corky's name to the Mayo Clinic (ALS Clinic) or the ALS Association.
