Lena passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. She never lost her sweet and gentle nature or her beautiful smile. She was born March 2, 1925 to Pierina and Alfredo Luchessa, who immigrated to California from Cugnasco, Switzerland.

Lena had two children, Ronald and June. She loved her grandchildren, Adam and Ashley and spent many wonderful times teaching them about the "good old days". She loved gardening, the San Francisco Giants, gambling in Tahoe, playing cards and bingo and was an amazing cook.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Everett and brother, Herman Luchessa.

She is survived by children, Ron of Portland, OR, June Serrano of Monterey; grandchildren, Adam (Heather) Serrano of Monterey, Ashley (Giuseppe) Errico of Mtn. View; sisters, Elsie Alciati, Mary Borzini, Jane McClean; brother, James Luchessa; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Oreo.
