Margaret Yaeko Tanda
Margaret Yaeko Tanda, 95, of Salinas, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013. She was born August 31, 1917, in Redwood City.
Margaret worked for the Salinas Unified School District for 25 years in food service and was school cafeteria manager at Mission Park Elementary School when she retired.
She was a member of Lincoln Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Orchid Society of Monterey and volunteered at the Alliance on Aging Tuesday lunches. Also Margaret did square dancing with the Spindrifters group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Tanda.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Beatrice (Alan) Campbell of Sunnyvale and Florence (Larry) Sterling of Salinas; grandchildren, Valerie (Rick) Enos of Tracy, Colleen Sterling of Linwood, NJ, Scott (Jeanette) Campbell of Hollister and Heather (Jeff) Morse of San Jose; great-grandchildren, Denae Enos and Jarrod Enos of Tracy, Matthew Enos of Tracy, and Eden Morse of San Jose; and her brother, Tomo (Jane) Kanzaki of Sunnyvale.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at the Lincoln Avenue Presbyterian Church, 536 Lincoln Ave., Salinas, CA 93901.
