Mercedes Ybarra Sanchez
Mercedes Ybarra Sanchez, 83, of San Diego, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, after a six-year battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Mercedes was born October 17, 1929, in Betteravia.
Mercedes worked at Basic Vegetable Products in King City for more than 30 years and retired as a crew leader. She lived life to its fullest traveling with her husband, Adalberto to Hawaii, Michoacan, Acapulco, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City where she visited the shrine of her beloved Virgin de Guadalupe.
Mercedes was dearly loved and will be remembered for her love of family and friends, work ethic, generosity and great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all those she left behind and is now at peace with her Lord and Savior and her beloved Virgin de Guadalupe.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nicolas Ybarra; mother, Faustina Terrones Ybarra; and brother, Jess Ybarra.
Mercedes is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Adalberto Sanchez; her beloved cat, 'Freddie'; daughter, Guadalupe Limas of Weslaco, TX; sons, Andrew Mendoza of Tijuana, Mexico, Julian Mendoza of Felton, and Nicolas Mendoza of Eloy, AZ; half-sister, Rosemarie A. Rahall of Anaheim; half-brother, Nicholas Ybarra Gomez of Numata-shi, Japan and various grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved friends.
At her request, no services were held and she was interred at Greenwood Memorial Park and Cemetery in San Diego.
