Pansy Hopkins-Madden, 95, of Salinas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was born May 12, 1918 in Verdin, Oklahoma. She came to live at Villa Serra after her husband died, where she resided for fifteen years.
Pansy had a contagious smile and a wonderful disposition, and especially enjoyed being together with her family and friends, loving them unconditionally. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salinas and was active in many Christian activities. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a loyal friend to many.
She leaves behind three children, Gene (Joan) Townsend of Hamilton, MT, Tamara (Mike) Ranker of Spreckels, CA, and Linda (Fred) Mitsch of Roseville, CA; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and her loving companion, Wally Greenlaw.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Villa Serra and VNA Hospice for their compassion and care of our mother.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Struve and Laporte Funeral Home, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Salinas or to the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel.
