Rosalia Langenhahn, of Seaside, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014, after a short illness. Rosalia Hanfstingl was born in 1929, in Dettenhausen, Germany.
In 1951, she married U.S. Army sergeant Howard Langenhahn and immigrated to the United States. The two lived at various military installations around the world before settling on the Monterey Peninsula in 1967. Rosa, as she was known to her family and friends, became a U.S. citizen in the 1960's. She worked for many years at Del Mesa Carmel, where she was well known to the residents.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard Langenhahn, in 2010.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Langenhahn of Berkeley and Rose Ann Langenhahn of Seaside; son-in-law, Doug Hendricks of Berkeley; and two grandsons, Jeffrey Hendricks of Ann Arbor, MI and Steven Hendricks of Boulder, CO.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the San Carlos Presidio Chapel, 500 Church St., Monterey, CA 93940.
Burial will follow at Mission Memorial Park, 1915 Ord Grove Ave., Seaside, CA 93955.
